Recent works
Many people died in the Japanese earthquake and tsunami disaster earlier this year. My purpose is to examine the role of the Archetype and ritual as a creative response to surviving loss and disaster. In these works I use the Archetype of The Trickster, who is like a shaman. This idea came from the ritual of Japanese bath habits and observations of the cherry blossom. Art is helpless in catastrophe and disease, although I feel that imagination and the power of creativity are being tested in survivors like us.

These artworks are a series of works on the same theme which is called “experiment”. In addition, these express my personal view of the world and poetic view of the world. I aim to work by responding to what I see and hear honestly. Further...more, I think that it is more important to look into the depths of our mind than to hear only negative opinion because, today is a people are always negative period. The meaning of my art work is one of possibility. It is grace to help an individual. It looks like a ray of light into a well. Finally, new things always appear in chaos. These works call you to a far place and ask you to experiment.

These artworks were an unconscious action to wind cloth on a branch. I continued it although I didn’t find any clearly meaning. When I finished it and looked at it I felt peace of mind. Moreover, it looks like a bandage covering a wounded ...horn. In addition, there is one kind of psychotherapy which is called “pack therapy” which uses a wet compress and “packs and connects”. So, patients recover their whole body image from a broken body image. In addition, a lot of branches look like a fragile network. This means, people connect, pack and wind for existence which seems to get untied in modern society. People try to connect with other people but modern society makes people indifferent not care about others. I feel strange about human relationship in nowadays. People want to shallow relation which is affected and no meaning. It is just consume ourselves I think that we should pay more attention to relationship.
